The Indie Music Channel Awards - Hollywood Honors Stevie Hawkins With "Best Blues Artist" Award

Stevie Hawkins emerged as the winner of the "Best Blues Artist" award at the Indie Music Channel Awards in Hollywood for the performance of his blues/soul composition entitled "Lonely No More", co-written by Hawkins’ longtime songwriting collaborator, Charlotte Hannon. The award recipients were selected by a panel of international judges consisting of A&R personnel, DJs, and music industry professionals who reviewed hundreds of song entries for consideration of the accolades.
The 11th Annual Indie Music Channel Awards red carpet event was conducted on October 3, 2023, at the "Hang On To A Dream Theater" next to the Dolby Theatre in the Ovation Hollywood complex in Hollywood, California. Independent musicians, VIP guests, and representatives from the global music, film, and television industries attended.
"Lonely No More" is a featured song on Hawkins’ Emphasis Records album release entitled "High Times". The album features Stevie Hawkins on lead vocals, drums, percussion, piano, organ, and harmonica, as well as the producer and engineer of the album.
Hawkins said, “I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Christopher Ewing, Emmy Award winning TV host, actor, model, and Indie Music Channel founder, and the international panel of judges who honored me with the distinction of being chosen as the ‘Best Blues Artist’ award winner among a field of male and female blues artists. Hawkins has previously won IMC Awards for "Best Blues Artist”, "Best Live Blues Performance”, "Best Blues Producer”, "Best Songwriter (Blues)”, "Best Live Performance (Rock)”,”Producer of the Year”, and "Artist of the Year”. This most recent victory trails those accomplishments.

Renowned blues vocalist, drummer, and songwriter Stevie Hawkins celebrates his nomination for “Blues Artist” for his recent single "Movin’ Down The Road" in the Hollywood Independent Music Awards (HIMAwards). The 2023 HIMAwards event took place on August 17, 2023, at The Avalon in the entertainment capital of the world, Hollywood, California. The evening will feature live performances, a VIP dinner banquet, celebrity presenters, a red carpet, and award presentations.
The HIMAwards nomination follows Hawkins winning awards in the Indie Music Channel Awards (Hollywood): 'Best Blues Artist', 'Best Live Blues Performance', 'Best Blues Producer', 'Best Songwriter (Blues)', 'Best Live Performance (Rock)', 'Producer of the Year', and 'Artist of the Year'.

The new single, "Movin’ Down The Road" by Stevie Hawkins, is a driving, infectious blues-rock song that features acclaimed guitarist Spencer Kirkpatrick, a founding member of the legendary southern rock band Hydra, and was recorded on Capricorn Records, Polydor Records, and Emphasis Records.

2022 Indie Music Channel Awards Honors Stevie Hawkins With 7 Awards

GRAMMY recipient, Stevie Hawkins, returned to Hollywood and Sunset Gower Studios where he won seven awards at the 2022 Indie Music Channel Awards. Hawkins' award nominations encompassed four genres of music. Joining Hawkins in an award win in the blues songwriter category is his talented writing partner, Charlotte Hannon. GRAMMY nominated artist/percussionist, Victor Orlando also shared a nomination with Hawkins in the "Best Live R&B Performance" category

"Thriller" Film :: Emphasis Records & Hannon Hawkins Music, BMI License Stevie Hawkins Song For Inclusion In New Divide/Conquer Movie

Emphasis Records is excited to announce the licensing of a master recording from our catalog, "Only You", performed by recording artist and 2018 Recording Academy GRAMMY recipient, Stevie Hawkins. Film director Dallas Jackson chose the song for the new Blumhouse - Divide/Conquer film production titled, "Thriller". Directed by Jackson (Rebel - BET TV series, South of Nowhere, The Last Dragon) and produced by Jackson along with Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks, and John H. Lang, the story revolves around a childhood prank that comes back to haunt a clique of South Central Los Angeles teens when their victim returns home during their high-school Homecoming weekend. Written by Jackson and Ken Rance (New In Town - Renée Zellweger, The Good Son - Macaulay Culkin), the film has an expected 2019 release.
"Only You" is an original song co-written with Charlotte Hannon, and appears on Hawkins' award-winning Soul/Funk/R&B album titled "What The Funk?". The license for the song was issued by Hannon Hawkins Music, BMI, and Emphasis Records.
Music Supervisor, Paul Stewart, and Music Coordinator, Rayshon Harris, selected "Only You" for presentation to director Dallas Jackson for inclusion in the film. Stewart's long-lauded instinct for finding the right song at the right moment has made him a valued and in-demand music consultant and entertainment marketer. He is a veteran in music supervision with credits in over thirty-five films including: "Hustle & Flow" (Academy Award for Best Original Song), "Four Brothers", "2 Fast 2 Furious", and "Poetic Justice" (Academy Awards nomination for Best Original Song - "Again" by Janet Jackson). The Rolling Stones won 'Best Traditional Blues Album' for "Blue & Lonesome" at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy also recognized composers Miles Grayson, Lermon Horton, and Respect Music Company Executive/A&R Manager, Stevie Hawkins, with a Recording Academy 'Participation Certificate' for their creative and professional involvement in the Rolling Stones GRAMMY - Winning recording of the Grayson/Horton composition “Everybody Knows About My Good Thing", track number six on "Blue & Lonesome".
The Rolling Stones recorded the album during December 2015 at, British Grove Studios, in Chiswick, West London England. The studio is owned by Mark Knopfler, founding member of the band, Dire Straits. "Blue & Lonesome" takes its title from Little Walter‘s 1959 song of the same name, and spotlights tunes by some of the band's early music inspirations including: Howlin’ Wolf, Little Johnny Taylor, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, Otis Rush, and Lightnin’ Slim. The album was released December 2, 2016, on Interscope Records, Rolling Stones Records, Promotone B.V., Polydor Records and distributed by Universal Music Group. The album climbed to number 1 in 40 countries on iTunes with "Everybody Knows About My Good Thing" reaching number 11 in the Billboard Digital Singles Chart.
